Welcome to Cafe de Panama. Our grand idea has always been to create a place on the internet where we can tell our story, share our love of great coffee, and give everyone a chance to try our latest creations. If you don't know us yet, La Huella by Cafe de Panama is a family farm that brings something fresh and new to the coffee community every year, built on years of work in the field and at the roaster as specialty coffee growers. Our dedication rests on three principles: preserving the environment, supporting local communities, and chasing the highest possible quality in every cup.
From the highlands of Boquete, Panama
Our farm is nestled in the mountains of Boquete, in the cool, green west of Panama. Here, misty nights, rich volcanic soil and high altitudes slow everything down: the coffee cherries ripen gradually on the branch, concentrating the sweetness and complexity that lowland coffee can never match. This is the celebrated growing region that put Panama — and farms such as Hacienda la Esmeralda — on the world map, where conditions rival the finest origins of neighbouring Costa Rica. We pick only ripe cherries by hand, then process them with the same care we put into growing them, so that the character of the mountain survives all the way to your cup.
That care extends beyond the coffee itself. We grow under shade, protect the forest and water that surround us, and work hand in hand with the families who farm alongside us — because great coffee and a healthy community are not separate goals, they are the same goal. Depending on the lot and the season, we finish our cherries as washed, natural or honey-processed coffees, each method coaxing a different side of the same fruit out into the cup.
Our coffees — Geisha, Catuai and champion lots
We cultivate several varieties, but our Geisha and Catuai are the most cherished. A great coffee geisha is unlike anything else you will taste: delicate and tea-like, with bright notes of jasmine, bergamot and stone fruit, and a finish that lingers for minutes — the kind of cup that turns people into specialty coffee lovers for life. (You will sometimes see it written as gesha coffee — same remarkable bean, same Ethiopian lineage.) Our Catuai offers a rounder, sweeter, more classic profile: caramel, cocoa and a gentle citrus lift that makes it endlessly drinkable. Year after year these lots earn recognition at international competitions, and you can explore our champion coffee varieties and the stories behind every award.

Green coffee beans and fresh-roasted coffee
However you like to brew, we have a format for you. Home enthusiasts and professional coffee roasters can buy our green coffee beans straight from the source and roast them their own way, while everyone else can order roasted coffee beans or ground coffee, fresh from our roastery. Choose the roast that suits you: a bright, floral light roast that lets the Geisha sing, a balanced medium for everyday filter, or a fuller dark roast built for espresso and cold brew. Whatever you pour — pour-over, moka pot, French press or a long summer cold brew — the quality starts with the bean, and the bean starts on our farm. New to brewing at home? Start with our medium roast and a simple pour-over; once you are hooked, the green coffee beans are waiting for you to roast your own.
From our farm to your cup
We keep our supply chain short and honest: the coffee you drink was grown, picked and processed on our own land in Boquete, then roasted by our own team. There is no anonymous middle step — just one family standing behind everything in the bag. For those who crave convenience, we ship around the globe with express delivery, fresh roasting within two days of your order so your beans arrive at their peak. Whether you run a coffee shop, want to send coffee as a thoughtful gift, or are simply hunting for your new everyday cup, we have something for you. And if you ever find yourself in Panama, come and see it for yourself: stay at our guest house Casa Los Naranjos or join one of our Coffee Tours and walk the rows where it all begins.
So once again, welcome to our family. We are excited to share our passion for exceptional coffee with you — and we cannot wait for you to taste the highlands of Panama for yourself.
